Hello, I’m Mia, Centre Manager at The Hive Geelong. Originally from Mauritius, I’ve proudly called Melbourne home for the past nine years, bringing a diverse cultural perspective and a strong passion for community and connection.
My journey in early childhood education began in a family daycare as an assistant educator, where I developed a deep belief that every child deserves a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring environment. Since then, I’ve continued to grow within the ECEC sector, guided by a commitment to supporting children’s development and building strong relationships with families and educators.
I believe in a child-centred approach that encourages curiosity, celebrates individuality, and fosters confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
Outside of work, I enjoy baking and crafting, and I speak five languages, which helps me connect with families from diverse backgrounds. I also love exploring global recipes and creating hands-on activities that inspire children’s creativity.
I feel privileged to support each child’s early learning journey and to lead a passionate team dedicated to high-quality care.

The Hive Early Learning Centre (Hive ELC) Geelong have been welcoming to my son and I. The educators at Hive ELC have engaged in creating a culturally safe, diverse and inclusive space for the children while following the philosophy of learning through play. As an educator myself, I find this an important part of early childhood development and education. The Hive ELC Geelong have been open to feedback and have been evolving to meet and support the needs of the children. My daughter has attended this centre since she was a baby, and it has been an amazing experience for our family. The centre is currently run by Mia, who has been there since my daughter started, and she does an absolutely fantastic job. She is approachable, supportive with parents, and clearly cares deeply about the children. The kids absolutely adore her, which says everything. One thing I particularly love about this centre is how much they embrace multicultural celebrations. The children are regularly exposed to different cultures, traditions, and foods, which helps them build understanding and respect for others from a young age. I think that’s such an important thing for children to learn. The educators create a warm, caring environment where the children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. It’s been lovely watching my daughter grow in confidence while being part of this community. We’ve had a really positive experience here and are very grateful for the care and dedication the team puts into the centre every day.
We are very grateful to The Hive Geelong for the amazing care they provide to our 10-month-old. The educators are warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, which makes it much easier for us as parents. The centre is clean, safe, and well organised, and we love receiving regular updates about our child’s day.

The new management has brought such a fresh, positive energy to the centre—it’s clear they genuinely care about the children, families, and staff, especially when Ekta called to check in on our daughter after her surgery. We especially want to give a big shoutout to Sarah and Ankit in the Kinder room. They go above and beyond every single day, creating such a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for the kids. We love our daycare days. The girls are greeted with a smile and chat from the ladies at reception. There's always a cuddle if it's a tough goodbye and photos throughout the day to keep me updated. I love listening to them sing new songs they learn from daycare. A great clean and friendly centre.

I enrolled my son into The hive at 4 months old. Being a first time mum I was so nervous! On arrival at his first day till now I’ve been nothing but happy with the love and care both Jess and Jade show for him! He is so excited every morning I tell him he is going to see the girls. Taylah at drop off and pick ups is always so friendly and can’t cuddle my son quick enough! Thank you so much girls for making this such an easy and an amazing experience for Bowie! He has come leaps and bounds with his learning and development! He will always be known as the “giggle monster” x

My son has been here for over a year now and he absolutely loves it! He has grown so much since attending, l love getting updates and seeing pictures of him throughout the day playing and interacting with the other children. Great daycare.

Our daughter has attended the Hive since she was 6 months old. She has built special relationships with the educators and is excited to see everyone when she gets there of a morning. She has a lot of stories to tell every day about what she got up to. We love the regular updates and photos throughout the day. Highly recommend!
My son has been at this daycare for almost 3 years. He loves all the educators and talks about them all the time. I couldn’t be happier. We did cloth nappies and they embraced them and were happy to learn. Couldn’t rate them highly enough.

This is a loving and very inclusive kindergarten. My child is very happy in the Toddler class. He plays with other children and has made many friends.
My son has only started at the Hive this week & I have to say Christine has being extremely helpful, friendly & informative. The Educators I’ve met so far have being so nice & welcoming. I’d highly recommend the Hive to anyone who is looking for a daycare centre 🫶🏻

We love the Hive! Our daughter loves the educators at the centre and we’ve noticed they have really taken the time to get to know her and us. She always comes away happy and sharing the new songs she’s learnt. The centre is very bright and clean and the play areas are amazing! Couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

Both my kids attend the hive early learning centre and so far has been such a welcoming and nurturing environment. Educators are very focused to ensure my children feel safe and loved in their rooms. And biggest compliments to the chef as my kids love eating everything offered to them!!

I love the fact they take the time to email me pics and monitor the progress and his health on a daily basis and they provide healthy food for my son, great environment and so happy to know he is safe when he goes there thank you so much !!
